The 140 Characters Conference

THOUGHT LEADERS

140 Characters Conference
October 27-28 at The Kodak Theater in Los Angeles

Jeff Pulver is organizing another fascinating social media event to explore the effects of the real-time internet on business. This time the #140conf will have a special focus on the use of Twitter in Hollywood.

I attended the first 140 Characters Conference in New York City in June. Here are some photographs related to that amazing gathering… probably the most diverse group you could imagine! Jeff Pulver has a gift for bringing together brilliant, accomplished people from every walk of life to foster important dialog about the impacts of what he calls “The State of Now“. You may watch the 69 conference sessions ~> here.

The event in Los Angeles promises to be every bit as groundbreaking. I am looking forward to geeking it up with friends and meeting new people. I see the conference roster is shaping up nicely. Invited speakers and guests include Alyssa Milano, Ariana Huffington, Robert Scoble, Dave Winer, Adventuregirl, Matt Singley, Loic, Ben Parr, Beth Frysztak, Gary Vaynerchuk, Jeffrey Hayzlet. Here is an early peek at the lineup (with links to their’ Twitter pages). It’s a very wide cross-section of thinkers and social media devotees.

At the NYC 140 Characters Conference, I had the privilege of hearing the founder of Twitter, @Jack Dorsey speak. Here is his talk given just days after the #IranElection. He gave an interesting talk that outlined the mission of Twitter and the underlying values his team hopes to focus on as they move forward.
